Abstract

Teachers have a position as professional staff. Law Number 14 of 2005 concerning Teachers and Lecturers defines that professionalism is a job or activity carried out by a person and becomes a source of life income that requires expertise, proficiency or skills that meet certain quality standards or norms and require professional education. As professionals, they are required to always develop themselves in line with advances in science, technology and art. Teachers do not only teach formal education, but also other education and can become someone who is emulated by their students. For this reason, the role of teachers is very important in the process of creating quality future generations, both intellectually and morally. One of the efforts made by the government to date is the implementation of the Teacher Competency Test (UKG). UKG is intended to measure professional and pedagogical competence and to facilitate the government in the context of mapping teacher competency mastery as a basis for considering the implementation of teacher professional guidance and development programs.
